CSAE/SCGR: Letters Patent
1. (a) The name of this
Society is:-
"THE CANADIAN SOCIETY OF
AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING" / "LA SOCIETE CANADIENNE DE GENIE RURAL"
(b) The Society shall be governed by these Letters Patent
and by the By-Laws in harmony herewith.
2. The objects of the Society are:-
- To advance the application
of engineering principles and practices for the betterment of agriculture
and the applied sciences.
- To advance the standards
of agricultural engineering in the fields of research, education and practical
application.
- To encourage professional
improvement and foster agricultural engineering education.
3. The objects of the Society
shall be accomplished by:-
- Encouraging research,
experimentation, tests, and other original work in agricultural engineering;
- Encouraging the preparation
of original papers on agricultural engineering topics;
- Holding meetings for
the presentation and discussion of original papers, and the discussion of
the application of engineering techniques and practices associated with agriculture:
- Publishing papers and
reports and disseminating knowledge and experience of value to those engaged
in agricultural engineering work;
- Participating in the
development and promotion of standards, codes, formulas, and recommended practices
relating to agricultural engineering;
- Maintaining high technical
and cultural standards for admission to the Society;
- Co-operating with educational
institutions in the maintenance of high standards of education for agricultural
engineering;
- Encouraging among students
of agricultural engineering the study of such subjects as will equip them
with a proper cultural and technical foundation for achieving the optimum
of enjoyment for themselves and usefulness to society.
